Recently, I traveled out to Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville is one of the fastest growing travel destinations in the United States. Just as Las Vegas is known as one of the premier bachelor destinations. It is not uncommon to see groups of bachelorette parties as you get off the plane at the newly renovated Nashville Airport. You also know you are in Nashville as many of the airport restaurants will have live musicians performing, even at 9 AM on a Sunday morning!

The renovations for the Nashville airport make obtaining a rental car easy as the primary vehicle traffic is on different levels than the passengers going to the rental car garage, which is at the bottom level of the airport below the arrivals level.

Nashville is bordered by the Cumberland River. The downtown area of Nashville has a nice natural division with the River. One of the most popular areas of Nashville is Broadway Street which is between 2nd and 5th Avenue. Off of Broadway there is a plethora of live music as some of the restaurants and bars are three or four levels and each level has a different live musician.

Outside of the city center is the Grand Ole Opry, which in 2025 is celebrating its 100 year anniversary. Next to the Grand Ole Opry is the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Conference Center. Every Christmas season, the resort set up ice rinks, gingerbread house making and even displays of ice sculptures. Don’t worry though if you don’t bring a winter coat, as the resort has complimentary parkas for visitors to borrow when seeing the ice sculptures. This year, the ice sculptures are themed as characters and scenes from Charlie Brown’s Christmas. The Opry Mills mall is a huge indoor mall with many shops and restaurants and is adjacent to the Resort and Grand Ole Opry, easily within a short walk.

For sports fans, Tennessee Titans tickets are some of the most reasonable in the NFL.  The Titans play at Nissan Stadium, which will be closed in 2027, as the Titans are building next door a new massive stadium. For those that don’t mind a nice stroll to the game, there is parking at the city center garage across the River with a short walk across the bridge over the Cumberland River that lets fans out right at the gate of the stadium.
